Synopsis
Hell was, well, finally starting to feel like Hell for Effie after 500 years of making home as a demon. Being demoted to writing hate comments online from collecting souls was only the beginning, now finding out that she can’t marry her Prince of Hell demon boyfriend because she made an eternal vow with her human husband 500 years ago is just another layer. Not to mention because they vowed to find and love each other in every life, her husband has been stuck in a reincarnation loop. Now, it’s up to Effie to convince Finn, said reincarnated husband, to rescind his vows, which he doesn’t remember, so she can marry her boyfriend. The cherry one top? Finn refuses to rescind his vows.
Review
Overall, I enjoyed this a lot! While there were a few plot points that I wish were developed a bit more, this was such a fun romance. If you like a black cat main character, soulmates, and sarcastic devilish banter, I would highly recommend checking this one out!
Note, there were a few heavier topics that were centered in this story so always best to check your trigger warnings!
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
