Synopsis

What happens when the boy that broke your heart 10 years ago comes back to your hometown because his family just so happened to be the founders of the town, and you’re both witches, and 10 years ago you accidentally cursed him, and now the curse is actually ruining the entire town? Well, for Vivi this is all a nightmare come true. After a whirlwind summer romance at 19, Vivi and Rhys meet almost ten years later when he returns to help reset the magic lines of Vivi’s home town, the town Rhys’s ancestors founded. One small problem, Vivi drunkenly cursed Rhys at 19 for breaking her heart, and instead of resetting the magic lines with his powerful magic, he infuses the lines with his curse; now evil spirits are prowling the town, and simple spells now have bigger consequences. Not only do they have to figure out how to end the curse that only works on Rhys in the town limits, but they also have to learn how to work together, and squash down the lingering feelings of teenage infatuation.

Review

If you’re looking for a fun, short romance during spooky season, I would recommend checking this one out. I usually don’t like second chance romances, but this one was very cute, and was set up very well that it didn’t really feel like a high stakes second chance romance. The curse and the adventure to figure out how to end it was very fun, and the spice was just enough to keep the plot going and not overwhelming or distracting. It wasn’t the best romance I’ve read by any means, but I definitely think if you like paranormal romances you should consider checking this one out.
